Changing Trends in Talent Acquisition and Recruitment

Talent Acquisition and recruitment is constantly changing with market trends, advances in tech and candidate expectations which change with each new generation.

To remain competitive, companies should ensure they keep on top of the latest trends. We have seen that although salary remains a key motivation for changing roles, flexible working is coming out on top as a priority for candidates.  Remote and hybrid working models should be considered where possible to attract a wider range of candidates.

We are seeing many companies, especially those who require a large number of skilled and non-skilled staff are moving to the recruitment fair again.  These fairs hadn’t been seen since in many years but with the shortage of talent being experienced since Covid, they have become popular again.  FRS Recruitment held two open days for healthcare and nursing staff in Dublin and Limerick and we were delighted with the response and attendance on each day.

Organisations are now placing greater emphasis on diversity and inclusion and advertising themselves as inclusive employers.  If an organise wishes to foster this outward identity, they must follow through and embrace a more inclusive workplace and this can start by amending job adverts, looking at interview and performance requirements for neuro divergent candidates.

In 2024 and beyond, the recruitment landscape is characterised by a blend of flexible working arrangements, a focus on diversity and inclusion, and a commitment to improving the candidate experience.  Adapting to these trends will be necessary for hiring companies in order to stay attractive and competitive in the market.
