Royal London Launch Fast, Easy and Secure eSignature Service

On the back of being rated as having the best ‘online application system for processing new business’ in the 2017 Brokers Ireland Excellence Awards, Royal London has maintained its commitment to the broker market and to making it easier for you to do business with them, by introducing electronic signature functionality in their online system.

Third party electronic signature providers have been around for a few years now, with the number of brokers adopting the functionality increasing every year. However, Royal London’s recent deployment of electronic signature technology sees them become the very first provider to fully integrate the functionality into their online system.

Commenting on the new service, Daragh Feely, Royal London Head of Sales, said “We know from speaking with brokers that have used eSignature technology, that they experience a big increase in application return rates. Cases that previously may have been lost due to the client having no ink in their printer, documents being lost in the post or just not being able to find a suitable time to meet the client, can now be worked around to get the application over the line. We’ve streamlined the whole process so that the user experience is as straightforward as possible for both you and your clients. And it’s legally accepted – an eSignature holds the very same weight as a traditional ‘wet signature’.”

From now on, when completing an application with Royal London, you can complete the whole application, from start to finish, including getting the client to sign the form, as part of one phone call; there’s no need to be face-to-face with the client. Available in Royal London’s Quote and Apply system, you can now easily add your own electronic signature to the application transcript and Declaration and Consent form, before it is securely sent to your client for their review and signature. Conveniently, you can select to use your previously uploaded signature each subsequent time you use the system.

Daragh continued, “Being able to complete the whole application online speeds up the process for everyone involved and ensures your clients get a premium service. It also offers increased transparency. Clients receive a copy of their transcript much earlier in the process which tells them exactly what they’re signing up to which, to my mind, can only help brokers’ compliance obligations.”

The new eSignature service is easy to use and coupled with Royal London’s other new system improvement, a Transcript Preview feature, it offers you more flexibility as you progress through the application process. From now on, before submitting the final application you can view, save and print your clients’ transcripts. So if you need to, you can verify your client’s details with them before submitting the application.
