Job Specification:

Creane & Creane Insurance are one of the largest Insurance brokerages in the South East and we require an Assistant Accountant for a 12 month maternity cover contract in our busy office in Enniscorthy.

Reporting to the Financial Controller you will be responsible for;

  • Daily reconciliation of client Cash and Cheque receipts and preparation of bank lodgement
  • Reconciliation of monthly payments to Insurers and following up on queries related to these, both in-house with client handlers and with the Insurer. This is the most important aspect of the role.
  • Recording of Premium finance payments
  • Monthly Bank Reconciliation
  • Issuing of cheques to clients and maintaining register and issuing payments to Insurers
  • Issuing of cheques for overhead/supplier expenses and control of invoices for same
  • Petty cash handling
  • Various other ad hoc duties

Requirements

3 to 5 years experience working as an accounts assistant, with proven ability as a self starter with good attention to detail for large reconciliations in particular.

IATI qualification or similar (Part qualified – ACCA/CIMA/CPA) with extensive Excel skills and experience

Previous experience working in Insurance Industry and with Insurance Broking CRM application Applied Relay would be helpful but not essential.
