Aviva are pleased to have completed the most recent version of our Family Finances report.
in conjunction with RED C, across a representative sample of 2,000 adults aged 18+. This year we did a deep dive into pensions to understand attitudes towards retirement planning.
The numbers show some stark differences between people’s expectations and the reality they may face at retirement. A significant number of individuals with existing pensions admitted to not being aware of how much their pension is worth or where it is invested. This may not be surprising as 57% of individuals admitted to having never received professional financial advice. However, we believe now more than ever people need to engage with and understand their retirement planning and that the best way to do this is to seek professional advice.
