Financial Services Ombudsman Annual Review Summary 2017

The Financial Services Ombudsman Bureau (FSOB) received a total of 4716 complaints were received by the office in 2017, which compares to 4513 complaints received in 2016. The 2017 total included 178 ineligible complaints, leaving a balance of 4538 eligible complaints. Of the 4538 eligible complaints received in 2017, 52% related to banking products and 42% related to insurance.

The remaining 6% concerned investment products and services. At the end of 2017 the FSO had 3,134 complaints on hand which they transferred to the Office of the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman.
