BOARD MEMBERS OF A MORTGAGE CREDIT INTERMEDIARY

Under the Minimum Competency Code 2017,  there is a requirement for all members of the board of a mortgage credit intermediary to complete 6 hours continuous professional development (CPD).  This requirement is for all members of the board even if they are not advising. If the individual already holds a recognised qualification and is completing CPD, there is no additional requirement.

To help Brokers facilitate this, Brokers Ireland have developed a 6 hour program that will be tailored for non-executive directors/partners which will be presented and run virtually this year from 07-15th June at 1100-1200 hours.

The full schedule of presentations will be published shortly with individual registration links for each event. In order to comply with this requirement, members must attend the full six hour session in order to obtain their CPD hours.

Minimum Competency Code 2017 2.2.2 Mortgage credit A  person performing the functions specified in Section 2.1(ii) of this Code, who is not a person carrying out a relevant function in respect of mortgage credit agreements, as defined in Section 1.3, shall not be taken to comply with these Standards, unless he or she has completed six hours of CPD each year, in accordance with Section 1.7(b), (e), (f), (g) and (h) of this Code, in relation to mortgage credit agreements.

A person carrying out a relevant function in respect of mortgage credit agreements is to be qualified by March 2019, as per 1.3 and 1.5 if the MCC 2017.
