Artificial intelligence is already transforming the insurance industry, from claims and customer service to fraud detection and compliance. If AI is not already impacting your role, it will in the future.
The Insurance Institute’s Fundamentals of AI in Insurance programme is designed specifically for the insurance sector and offers an opportunity to build your knowledge and confidence in this rapidly evolving area. No coding or IT background is required—just a practical introduction to how AI works, where it can go wrong, and how to use it responsibly.
Over six weeks, you will learn how to:
• Understand AI, generative AI and large language models
• Recognise how AI is being used across the insurance value chain
• Write more effective prompts for everyday insurance tasks
• Identify risks such as bias, hallucinations and over-reliance
• Understand the ethical, regulatory and governance responsibilities associated with AI
• Identify opportunities to use AI safely and effectively in your role
There are two programmes starting in September, with the first beginning on 8 September: Fundamentals of AI in Insurance
