Wed Aug 19 2020

Following the announcement from Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science Simon Harris TD, last Wednesday 12 August which offers a €3,000 financial incentive for employers to take on apprentices, The CEO of The Insurance Institute, MR Dermot Murray, CEO, welcomed the initiative stating:

“Here at The Insurance Institute we strongly welcome the Government’s announcement with regards The Apprenticeship Recruitment Incentive, which will see employers being further rewarded and encouraged to hire apprentices. Apprenticeships add real value to businesses and create unique opportunities for those willing to learn. In light of the current environment, its great to see an investment being made in this area, especially as it could have the potential to transform the perceptions, as well as the overall landscape of apprenticeships in Ireland.”

“At The Insurance Institute we are currently recruiting both employers and apprentices for our 2020 Insurance Practitioner Apprenticeship. The programme, which is now entering its fifth year enables apprentices to gain real work experience while working towards a third level qualification. The apprenticeship is also beneficial for the insurance employer as they have access to quality employees who are hardworking and ambitious. It’s a win win for everyone involved and over the past four years has breathed new life into our industry by reaching out to the next generation of talent.”

“Registrations are now open for the 2020 Insurance Practitioner Apprenticeship which will officially begin in September. If you are a prospective employer or an apprentice we would love to hear from you. You can get more information by logging on to”
